Cultural Context:
In Mexico the LGBTIQ+ community has gained many spaces mainly in the CDMX, but unfortunately in the rest of the country, prejudice, discrimination and violence are still present.

This a topic that is rarely talked about in the media, that is why the film “More than words” was launched as part of the commemoration of the Day against Homophobia, Biphobia, Lesbophobia and Transphobia 2025 “The Power of Communities”, FEMESS, MEXICO VIVO, TREVOR PROJECT, SICO and GILEAD, presented a two-minute short film, for the prevention of suicide in the LGBTIQ+ community.

The Problem:
In Mexico, one in three LGBTIQ+ people in Mexico have thought about or attempted suicide, 28.7 percent of sex-gender diverse people over the age of 15 have had suicidal thoughts or attempts in their lifetime, according to 2021 data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) Source: ENDISEG 2021.

The Solution:
We created a film in which we take a cold statistic and show a reality that happens in Mexico and nobody wants to see: the suicide of the LGBTIQ+ community.

Generating a message for society to leave behind the prejudices, the signs, discrimination and violence towards people of the LGBTIQ+ community showing that words kill.

The Results:
Views: 229,986 Total impacts: 77,529,609 The performance of the 24/7 online support and counseling service through the PARESS platform increased significantly, from 911 contacts in April to 2,890 in May (+217.2%), and continued to increase to 7,560 (+729.9% compared to April) in June.
